Our packaging plays an important role in keeping our pet food safe and fresh. We also recognise that packaging materials have an environmental impact. That is why we are working to design packaging that can be recycled and uses less plastic over time, while helping reduce our footprint and protecting the quality and nutrition pets need.
Today, more than 95 percent of our plastic packaging is designed for recycling, a major step forward in reducing our impact. We are also working to reduce our use of virgin plastic, in part through incorporating more recycled content into our packaging. And when packaging is designed for recycling and collected and turned into something new, even more packaging can be kept in use.
Designing recyclable packaging and reducing waste can only go so far. We also support efforts to strengthen recycling systems so more packaging can be collected and reused.
We are supporting organisations and working in collaboration to help improve recycling systems, increase access to recycling and encourage the recovery of packaging materials.
Widely Recyclable
Many of our packaging formats are widely recyclable. Examples are metal cans, paperboard boxes, select paper bags, plastic tubs and some liners where facilities exist.
Recyclable at Store Drop Off Locations
Certain flexible plastic packaging may be recyclable at store drop off locations in some markets, where facilities exist. Examples include snack wrappers from pet treats and small plastic pet food bags.
Reusable or Recyclable in Certain Areas
Some packaging formats may not be recyclable everywhere. We are working to improve recyclability and reduce environmental impact over time.
